




The legendary NASCAR Racing sim games from the now defunct Papyrus Software and Sierra were some of the best racing games ever made. But when Electronic Arts got hold of the exclusive NASCAR game rights a few years ago they pretty much game the PC platform the cold shoulder. They ported a couple of their console NASCAR games to the PC but the last PC specific game they made was the disastrous NASCAR SimRacing, released four years ago this month (that's the box cover on the right).

It's a game that has achieved something of a cult following during its years of development. And when we say years we mean it; the title has been in development for about eight years. This week, however, the fantasy MMO Darkfall finally and officially launched.

The biggest comic book movie of 2009 is a little over a week away but even closer to release is the game version. Today Valve's Steam service began taking pre-orders for Watchmen: The End is Nigh, the "M" rated fighter-brawler game based on the "R" rated movie (and itself based on the classic Alan Moore-Dave Gibbons comic).

Last year Ubisoft announced it would be taking over the publishing duties of the long running Anno historical trading sim series. Today the publisher announced that the US release of the next game in the series, Anno 1404, would be given the title Dawn of Discovery for its US release this summer.

Demigod is currently in the third phase of its beta testing and many folks have been wondering when the Gas Powered Games-developed RPG-RTS game will finally be completed. Our sister site Joystiq has caught up with the game's publisher Stardock and has learned that Demigod is now scheduled for a April 14 release date in both a regular $39.99 edition and a $49.99 collector's edition.
